Educational Technology - Helps?

When looking for websites to gain information and ideas for the implementation of technology into the classroom, the Texas Education Agency has several resources available. The best I have used is the Educational Technology site. This site contains up to date information on all aspects of educational technology and its applications for the Texas educator. The website is easily accessible from the TEA homepage or by the URL http://www.tea.state.tx.us/technology/
When the user accesses this homepage they can easily navigate to a variety of topics or areas of interest. Information regarding the Long-Range Plan for Technology, Electronic Course Programs, ETAC, ESC Technology Cents, Texas STaR Chart, Technology Immersion Pilot Programs, Technology Applications Curriculum, Technology Planning & E-Rates, Title II, Part D, Online Learning. Also, the user may select (from the left side of the home page) contact & staff, presentations, resources, FAQs and Ed Tech Listserv links.
A negative aspect to this website? Users will find this website sterile. One would think that a website devoted to technology and technology education would be filled with the characteristics that make technology attractive - interaction and ability to question and post comments. None of that exists. When I chose the FAQs I saw that CNN - Collaborative Community Network - was an option. I thought, "Yippee! an opportunity to collaborate online about Texas technology education!" Was I disappointed to find that the link took me to a webpage that "Cannot be found."
One resource on the website that is particularly applicable to the 21st Century Learner is the Online Learning information that gives information about the Elctronic Course Program (eCP).
